Mary Carlton (M.C.) Murphy is a Master of Environmental Management and Master of Forestry candidate interested in human-wildlife conflict, tropical species defaunation, and community-based solutions to these issues. She is currently a Research Assistant supporting the Community Wildlife Project.

​M.C. graduated from Sewanee in 2017 with a Major in Ecology and Biodiversity. While there, she conducted movement ecology research on salamanders and primates. She has previous experience working in environmental policy and conservation at the local and national level. Most recently, she conducted aquatic ecology and invasive species research in Everglades National Park.
